Indoor and Outdoor Equipment, Materials, and Furnishings

Staff organize and group materials on low, open shelves to encourage children to use them independently. Staff rotate and adapt materials to promote learning and extend children's play opportunities.

Rationale: The toddlers have access to the dramatic play area; building & fine motor toys, the water table, the art center and books are all labeled and organized on the child’s level. Certain toys are kept out of reach but available when the children request them. Other toys may be rotated on a monthly schedule.
